The dining experience was underwhelming overall. We waited 50 minutes for our food without any communication or updates from the restaurant staff, which was quite disappointing. The bolognese was particularly poor—paying $27 for such a subpar dish felt unjustified. The pizza was average at best, with nothing particularly memorable about it. Glasses looked greasy too.On a positive note, the service was warm and welcoming; the staff were very friendly, which slightly redeemed the experience. However, the long wait and the quality of the food leave much room for improvement.

A perfect spot for a coffee break or a meal. After struggling to find an open place serving food in the afternoon, we stumbled upon this little restaurant by the river. 🥕🥔 The view was lovely, the space spotless, and the wood-fired pizzas were incredible 🍕, with gluten-free options available. The lady who served us was very welcoming. I highly recommend it!

Fantastic place to dine at! Quality of food was high, had the beef burger and was amazed! Lovely service by the front lady who also cooked as well. Definitely head in and eat!

Disappointing pizzas. We decided to try them out after reading a recent positive review, despite the overall rating. Unfortunately, it was a mistake. The pizzas were very underwhelming - the BBQ chicken pizza appeared to have minced chicken and the mushrooms were hard to find. The garlic pizza was also bland and disappointing. Priced at $30 for the Chicken and $22 for the garlic, they were marketed as premium gourmet pizzas, but they fell short of that standard. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, but the meal itself was quite disappointing.

Quick improv stop. Wife and I ordered coffee and a wine and two pizza's. THE BEST gluten free pizza base I've ever had! I had to question if it was the correct base which it obviously was👌🏼. Lovely service with a smile, food was delish and coffee was great.

I gotta admit, I was a little nervous going to Scorchers having read some of the reviews. But the tide seemed to have turned with the new owners so thought I’d give it a go. And I am SO glad I did!!We booked for 5:30pm and ended up turning up half an hour early, but were met with smiles and acceptance even if this may have caused inconvenience. We had asked if sitting outside was ok as we were travelling with our dogs, and they could not have been more accomodating… there were even free dog treats on offer and water bowls. They were friendly with our two boys, and were so lovely and welcoming.We ordered two pizzas (one large supreme and one small margarita), garlic bread and Greek salad, and were STUFFED. We ended up giving the dogs about half of the food cause we were so full!! It was all tasty, straight out of the oven (except the salad lol), and left us full and happy.Sometimes Tassie hospitality gets a (deserved) serve as us locals can be a bit… direct. But the people at Scorchers were friendly, enjoyed conversation, open, and made us feel so welcome. Thank you!!!!

The place next door looks like it has the reputation bringing in the masses but honestly, the price, quality of food, friendly service and space (ie not feeling packed in like sardines) was well worth it. Came here for breakfast and will be back to try their pizza soon :)

Popped in for a coffee after arriving in Orford, it seemed to be the only place open at between four and five in the afternoon.Staff friendly, coffee good and a great home made cake selection.We arranged to eat here the following day after a day trip to Maria Island. Excellent choice, Chilli Prawns and Carbonara both highly recommended and the Caramel topped cheesecake was superb.If you are passing through or staying in Orford this place should be on your list of places to eat at.Thanks to the three ladies we spoke to and provided us with such a memorable experience on our tour of Tasmania.

Food was great, exactly what we ordered, warm and fresh. Service was excellent. Our young son was tired and grumpy after spending all morning in the car. The owner cheered him up and encouraged him with some coloring-in, which she then hung up on the wall. Very much appreciated.

We had take away tonight from Scorchers by the river and it was delicious. The flathead was so beautifully fresh, and the wedges had the perfect crunch. The pepperoni wood fired pizza was really good and I was very happy with my seafood marinara. The lady who answered the phone and served us (Storm I think her name was) was so happy and friendly. Highly recommend ⭐️

The place next door is super busy full of life so we went here and what a gem. Grill chicken is normally really hard for me to like or be impressed by, but this is the most succulent tender grilled chicken I have ever had. And the curly wedges were so light a fluffy. Great place.

After a full day of hiking with my friends, we happened to come across this place, & to our delight, were in for a treat on multiple fronts. We were very hungry, & also desiring an alcoholic beverage — both of which they didn’t disappoint. We ordered some pizzas, carbonara, both salads, fries, & wine. The curly chips were the highlight (even though everything was good, & yes I tried everything my friends ordered 😋). We loved how soft the inside of the chips were & the slightly spicy lime aioli sauce was to die for. The atmosphere is nice & the staff very friendly. They did forget to bring out our chips, but upon reminding them they were apologetic & quick to correct. If I’m back in the area again I’ll look forward to returning for a bite & relaxed atmosphere to recharge. Thanks girls!

We were overwhelmingly impressed by how good Scorchers is now! The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the fish and chips especially were the best I've had in ages - beautifully moist flathead and impossibly crispy batter, with delicious crunchy chips and a yum lime and chilli aioli (with some actual heat to it) on the side. We couldn't finish the pizza as the fish and chips serving was so generous, but the base was beautifully thin with the perfect amount of topping - very much looking forward to eating the rest for dinner tomorrow night!Ignore the old reviews from when it was under the previous management - the team at Scorchers now definitely deserve five stars!

Amazing!! We walked in and got a warm welcoming from the owner. We got seated promptly and shortly after ordering, our brunch was served. Great food, tomato relish is really nice. Had a lovely chat with the owner whilst enjoying our meal. 10/10 would highly recommend. Excellent customer service and food.

The best customer service we have experienced in a long time. We went there 3 days in a row for takeaway and dine in. The staff were extremely thoughtful, offering a glass of water and comfy seat to a breastfeeding mother while we got a takeaway coffee. They brought a wet cloth to clean up mum after a baby vomit while having a dine in (outside). They brought colouring books and pencils for kids while waiting for food.The food was delicious and reasonably priced. A really tasty large coffee was refreshingly only $5. The veggie burger, quiche, bacon/egg roll and muffins were delicious.They are also very dog friendly, having free biscuits and pat for our golden retriever. A full fresh water bowl was much appreciated after our long walks/rides. We stopped for a coffee and stayed for lunch.Do yourself a favour and try this place. It's not just pizza!

Came in by random recommendation. Read some reviews and was not sure what i was going to get. Lovely surprise of a nice big juicy burger, fresh salted chips and a vanilla milkshake, was a perfect meal after taking my dog to the beach. My husband and I dined here for pizza while travelling in Tasmania last month. The pizza was absolutely delicious! My husband ordered the garlic prawn pizza and I ordered Margherita on a gluten-free base. Gluten-free pizzas can be VERY hit and miss but this was absolutely delicious and crispy - possibly the best gluten-free pizza I’ve ever had! And my hubby was very satisfied with his too. Definitely recommend dining here!

Scorchers is finally good again! The new management has made the menu similar to how it was when it first opened - good pizzas, simple dishes, local ingredients, very tasty.If you had a bad experience here in the past seven or so years (like most tourists and residents after Shane's family sold Scorchers), give it another go. The new owners are very nice and are doing a great job with quality. Great to have a nice restaurant back in town.The only feedback I'd have is a rebrand and restart of the social media pages. There are heaps of negative reviews and experiences from people who ate there when the menu was a mile long, and the food/service/staff attitude was awful. It's not like that anymore - let people know that!
